Data Conversion

We are happy to provide assistance converting data from a variety of sources. If you prefer a 'clean start' that's one thing, but otherwise there are few circumstances which require rekeying data. There are numerous tricks--and a few complex spreadsheet or database calculations--to extract the data you need.

QuickBooks Conversion

QuickBooks Pro for Mac suffered developmental arrest, so lacks the more powerful report and export functions found in the latest Windows version. The major obstacle here is dealing with Customer and Vendor Addresses, which may have been entered in a variety of ways, and are difficult to separate into component parts (e.g. street address, city, state, etc.).

Intentory information extracted from QuickBooks can be massaged to extract Item Type information as well as replace longer Descriptions to fit Big Business lookup fields, and so on. Each data set is different and we are happy to take a look and provide guidance specific to your data.

FileMaker Conversion or Integration

FileMaker provides complete export (and import) functionality. However, before exporting, you may benefit from FileMakers powerful calculations to adjust data to better fit Big Business. Or, perhaps you want to plan how to send data to and from Big Business to keep your FileMaker solution humming along side you new accounting system.
