Solution:
Big Business Server supports data files as large as 128 gigabytes. Each segment of the data file can be up to 2 gigabytes, with a maximum of 64 segments. You can make segments smaller than 2 gigabytes to fit onto smaller volumes.
Note: You do not need to Segment your data file unless you have more than 1.8 gigabytes of data. This is more than 1,800 megabytes of data, which can take several years to accumulate.
To Segment your data file: 1. From the Data menu in Big Business Server select Segments 2. Highlight the original Segment and enter a Maximum Size (e.g. 1,800,000 KB) If the Segment is larger than the value entered the current size will be used. 3. Click Add 4. Name the new Segment and Save 5. Click OK to close the Segment window.
Warning: Once you click OK to close the Segment window, do not delete the new Segment or you will not be able to open the data file (even if the segment was empty). Instead, use BB Tools to reconfigure the segmentation.
Big Business will automatically use the new Segment as needed. The new Segment file (.4DS file on Windows) is part of you data and should be backed up with other data files (.4DD and .4DR on Windows).
