Big Business 6 updates the Import tool to include:
• Checking for Duplicates
• Saving Import Settings for repeat use
Check for Duplicates is new option that automatically appears on:
• Item Import, checking for Duplicate Item Codes
Check for Duplicates is initally blank and can be left blank, or one of the three choices in the drop-down menu can be selected:
1. Add Duplicate Records - creates new records without checking for duplicates. This option is the same as leaving Check for Duplicates blank.
2. Discard Duplicate Records - checks existing records for duplicates and discards the duplicate record(s) being imported.
3. Update Existing Records - checks existing records for duplicates and overwrites existing records with the duplicate record(s) being imported.
Save These Settings for Repeat Use allows you to save the current settings:
• Field Insertion Order (Mappings)
• Don't Import Header
• Tag
• Check for Duplicates
as a custom import.
After you complete the Import Settings, click Save As... to Name and Save your custom Import (e.g. MyImport). The next time you use the Import tool and choose an import file, the Import Into List will include your custom Import (e.g. MyImport) at the bottom of the list and selecting it will restore the saved settings.
If you have opened a custom Import, you can choose Delete to remove it from the Import Into List. If you modify a custom Import, you can choose Save to update it.
