Big Business automatically creates a Warehouse Quantity record for tracking an Item in a Warehouse. For Warehouses with Auto-Create checked this is done when new Items are created. Otherwise this is done as neeeded the first time you buy, sell, or adjust an Item for a Warehouse. (6624)

Big Business Server is easy to deploy on Amazon Web Services. You can do proof-of-concept on a free trial (t2.micro with 1gb) or go straight to a usable amount of memory (t2.large with 8gb or better). You must allow access to aws (security group) and to windows (advanced firewall) for Ports 19812 - 19814 before you can connect remotely.

This Solution provides details. (6779)

Big Business encrypts all Client connections, which improves security and instant-on. Please password-protect your computer. Anytime you are not using Big Business, please choose Quit from the File menu or application menu.

This solution provides security information. (7052)

Big Business includes Security Internals to automatically encrypt all connections. When Updates to the Built-In Database change the Security Internals, you can update Clients when you update Server and get better security.

Big Business Open Edition supports an option to set up your own Server in the cloud.

This enables full control of access to your data and documents from multiple locations.

This chapter describes this setup using Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the example.

MySQL is the world's most popular open source database--simply the best for access.

Big Business has setup options to share data to with systems that can access MySQL. Your shipping station can get Orders to read shipping addresses and put back tracking.

If you have a web store you administer, you may want Items the instant they change. If your store is B2B, you may want Customers, too. It's up to you, what you can do.

Big Business 14.48 updates MySQL Access to add "non-blocking" options for Azure. Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform with option to run MySQL databases.

Big Business lets you access data such as Customer, Items, and Orders, using MySQL. We can connect Shipping for you, or you can get Items for your web store, or send all data to a parent company system like Oracle or for data warehousing. It's up to you.

This chapter provides a quick overview, highlighting recent changes and possible uses. Other chapters detail connecting Shipping or setting up Macs, Windows, using ODBC.

Launch Instance is an orange button that you need once to get to the window pictured.

Enter a Name, click on an image like Windows, and choose an instance type (t2.xlarge). Go to Key Pair and click Create new key pair, enter a Name, and click Create key pair.

Click Launch Instance or review details here to choose best settings for your situation.

Instance Summary in AWS has the tools and information you need to complete setup.

In your AWS Console, in EC2, in Instances click on the Instance ID to open Summary. Connect will set up remote access so you can install Big Business on Windows 2022, Security will let you allow connections through, and Public IP will be used to connect.

See Next Page's (below) for simple step-by-step instructions for each of these options.

Security Rules in AWS are simple. Just add a rule that allows Big Business to connect.

In AWS, go to Instance Summary, Security tab and click on the link to Security Group. Click Edit Inbound Rules, click Add Rule, choose Custom TCP, for Port Range type in "19812-19814", and for Source leave on Custom, click in search, and choose 0.0.0.0/0.

Click Save Rules or review details here to choose best settings for your security needs.
