Chapter 162 Remove

Removed features, options, or customizations were set aside because another solution became available or the original is obviated by other improvements.

Remove Tables simplifies BigBusiness by taking out unneeded and unused data tables.

AddEdit was for a custom Salesforce integration for a company that was later acquired.

Scripts fell out of fashion some time ago and AppleScripts, JavaScripts, etc went stale.

Default Quantity was an entry on Item for setting a Quantity to be automatically filled in on sales transactions.

It is replaced by Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ).

Disable QuickPop turned off Employee popup on Sign-In screen which was confusing.

Test code is added to run through testing and often kept but may need to be removed.

Flag was a test for cost updates. Super Turbo won out. Flag was removed for backup.

OpenSSL.exe was included as a utility and has been removed for known vulnerabilities.

Hierarchical Menus are being removed to favor speed and simplicity where possible.

Requisition was a custom feature for creating entries which become Purchase Orders.

Docs Tag was updated to improve duplicate checking and identification but was slow.

A new index of 750,000 documents took over an hour to build, which is not practical. The practical solution was to revert to original tags only, which are resource friendly.

Live Backup lets built-in Backup run without disconnecting Clients and is always ON.

The option to Cancel Backup from a Client has been removed in favor of Live Backup.

Add PDF was a customization to automatically include a PDF containing Terms and Conditions when printing or emailing a Sales Order or Purchase Order.

This used old technology which is supplanted by a new PDF Plugin.

MRP Tab was added to help with materials resouce planning and became redundant.

MDI Client uses the older Multi Document Interface for Windows, which displays the grey background window within which all Big Business windows are displayed.

The new standard Client for Big Business for Windows uses SDI, Single Document Interface, which is the modern standard.

If for some reason you need the old look we can build this. It is not a standard offering and is not included included in our standard testing cycle. It should work perfectly well for some time but will not prompt changes that contravene new standards.
