Big Business includes options for using Landed Cost to evaluate profitability on Quotes, Orders, and Invoices, and more.
This Chapter collects a few of these settings and options.
Landed Profit is an optional Tab on Quote, Order, and Invoice. View your Landed Cost for each line item along with Landed Profit and Landed Profit Percentage. Adjust any entry, such as changing Landed Extended Cost for a line item, to have Big Business re-calculate pricing to match.
To fit columns nicely, choose a short name for Landed Cost fields. By default LC is used but in the picture it has been set to JJC because it is Jillian Jellybean Company's cost, which factors in sampling, not a traditional component of landed.
Landed Profit displays on a new Tab with Profit based upon Landed Cost (LC Profit). This works like the Profit tab, that you can change the Profit or Percentage (Profit %) on an item and it will change the Price for you.
Landed Built sets Landed Cost for Built items using the total of the Landed Costs of their components. Otherwise, Landed Percentage is used to update the Landed Cost.
To use this setting, ensure components have Landed Costs and restart the Server to load new settings. You can then use Update Cost to update landed costs.
If you turn on LC Profit in the Item Prefs, Big Business will add the LC Profit tab to Quotes, Orders, and Invoices, showing new LC Fields, including:
LC Cost
LC Ext Cost
LC Profit
LC Ext Profit
LC Profit %
Landed Profit is an optional Tab on Quote, Order, and Invoice that shows Landed Cost, Landed Profit, and Landed Profit Percent. Turn it On to use these, and when you add items to transactions Big Business will add the Cost and the Landed Cost.
Later, when you Convert a Quote or an Order to an Invoice, Big Business puts in the current Cost and current Landed Cost. If your costs have changed since an Order was created, converting it to an Invoice will show the new, current Cost and Landed Cost.

The Landed Cost (LC) option Landed Profit puts the LC Profit tab on Quote, Order, and Invoice that shows LC Cost, LC Profit, and LC Profit Percent for each item. Turn it On to use these, and when you edit your custom forms in the Forms tool, you will see these additional fields.
Landed Updating shows you the newest landed costs on new transactions like Orders. Later when the order is converted to an Invoice the newest Landed Costs are included.
Once new Landed Costs are added in the new transaction they are saved for reference. The Landed Costs in the Order stay the same, while in the new Invoice they are new.
Saved Invoices show the Landed Cost that was updated when the invoice was created.
