Chapter 621 Customer Groups

Customer Groups help you bring together large customers in multiple Customer cards.

Often a corporate customer with one billing address and many ship-to locations fits in one Customer card to track their balances, see their history, and apply their payments.

Circumstances like mergers or aquisitions, or having many high-volume locations may prompt you to have multiple Customer cards you want to handle together as a group.

  Customer Group Credit Limit

Customer Group lets you set a combined Credit Limit for all customers in the group.

As pictured, Meta-Facebook-etc has a combined Credit Limit of 123456 which works across their separate Customer cards for Meta, Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp.

If Facebook has an unpaid invoice for 100000 and Instagram has one for 20000, a new invoice for WhatsApp for 4000 will fail the credit verification you set in Invoice Prefs.

  Customer Group Credit Hold

Customer Group lets you set Credit Hold for all customers in the customer group.

As pictured, Meta-Facebook Group has been put on Credit Hold. This affects their separate Customer cards for Meta, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp in the Group.

  Customer Group Credit Hold Days

Customer Group lets you set Credit Hold Days for customers in the Customer Group.

As pictured, Meta-Facebook-etc has a combined Credit Hold Days of 72 which works across their separate Customer cards for Meta, Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp.

If Facebook has an unpaid invoice which is 73 days old, Meta, etc., will also fail credit verification, which you may to set to Warn or Prevent Save in Order or Invoice Prefs.

  Customer Group Credit Locked

Credit Limit, Credit Hold, and Credit Hold Days are locked on the Customer Group window if you do not have Terms Access or All Access set on your Employee card.
