Advanced Print Options: Overview


Big Business 5.0.7 adds Advanced Printing Options to customer transactions.

This Solution provides an overview of the Advanced Print Option features. (5923)






Advanced Print Options are selected by the user in the Notes Prefs, so they are optional for each user. When selected, Advanced Print Options changes the Print Options dialog displayed for Quotes, Sales Orders, Invoices, POs, and Bills, to include additional columns for Destinations and Settings.

Destination Options include:

Selecting a Printer - select the printer for each form on the Advanced Print Options and each job will be automatically dispatched; the printer selected will be remembered.

Saving As PDF - choose Save As PDF to have the form automatically converted to PDF. This requires Mac OS X or installing the PDF Printer for Windows. Mac OS 9 is not supported.

Emailing - choose Email to have the form automatically converted to PDF and attached to a new email message. This requires PDF support (above) and an Email Address listed in the Customer or Vendor Card (in the Email or Phone fields).


Settings Options include:

Hiding Forms - in the Printing Defaults that apply to all users, or for the duration of one user session, you can choose to Hide form choices so they do not appear on the Advanced Print Options window. This is useful for hiding form you never use.

Splitting Forms - in the Printing Defaults that apply to all users, or for the duration of one user session, you can choose to Split a form so that it appears on more than one row. This is useful for sending the same form to multiple Destinations.
